Diet Tips For Six Pack Abs
Many people get confused by what they should or should not eat to help lose fat and get six pack abs. The fact is, many so called experts contradict each other. So where is the answer?
I believe in a wholesome diet which includes a well rounded selection of fruits and vegetables of various colour groups. The simple fact is the less processed the food is - the better it is for you. If you stick to that concept when you stroll down the supermarket aisle then you should be fairly OK.
It is important to create 'balance' in your diet and lifestyle. No matter what you do it needs to be something you can stick to. Here are a few tips to help you get lean and keep that belly fat off:
1. Fibre
Include at least 2-3 grams of fibre for every 10 grams of carbs you eat. Fibre helps to slow down the glycaemic response to foods that you eat and is a great way to feel fuller for longer. A great source of fibre is vegetables, fruits and unrefined grains. As always avoid sugar where possible. One of the main reasons why people struggle with losing that stubborn belly fat is because they eat a diet which includes sugar and unrefined grains.
2. Protein
Make sure you get enough protein in your daily diet. Protein helps burn calories during digestion and also helps you feel satisfied for longer than when eating carbs and fatty foods. Recently protein has been acknowledged for its ability to maintain and build lean muscle which is a main factor in controlling metabolism.
3. Fat - Yes I Said Eat Fat!
It's time you started to eat. Of course I don't mean going on a binge to KFC or alike but fill your kitchen cupboards with fat burning wholesome foods which include healthy fat. Such foods include: avocados, eggs, nuts, seeds and olive oil. By including healthy fat in your daily diet you will not only help curb those cravings but it will have a positive effect on stabilizing your hormone levels.
4. 2 Foods To Avoid
High Fructose Corn Syrup - check your labels, it is found in almost all sweetened products;
Artificial Trans Fats - otherwise known as hydrogenated oils, these are found in nearly all processed foods including margarines.
Simply by eating a diet which minimizing processed foods then you will be avoiding these 2 foods anyway.
The benefits to controlling your intake of fibre, protein, fat and avoiding high fructose corn syrup as well as artificial trans fats means your blood sugar levels will begin to stabilize so those mid afternoon cravings will subside. In addition you are taking control of your appetite rather than your appetite controlling you and your hormone levels will also level out. Overall you will begin to feel a sense of well-being and be able to control stress much easier than before.
Gain control and find those abs you have been looking for!
